Noah's Ark Zoo Farm

As part of their Learning Experience 'Animal Antics', Pippin class went to Noah's Ark Zoo Farm for a fantastic day learning about a variety of animals at the zoo.

The day began with an informative classroom session with Tom, who spoke to the children about how animals are classified. Tom talked to the children about the 5 main animal classifications and gave examples for each. Afterwards, the children got to meet 'Charlotte' a cockroach and 'Lottie' a tortoise. All of the children had the chance to handle the animals too.

Once they'd met the animals, Tom shared a range of artefacts with us, and as Zoo explorers, we had to classify them. All the children enjoyed looking and guessing what the artefacts could be!

After we refuelled with some lunch, we spent time looking around the zoo and learning about the animals that live there. We spotted elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, spectacled bears, crocodiles, gibbons (who were very noisy!) and many more. The children all asked insightful questions and applied their knowledge of classification.

Everyone had a fabulous day!
