    Promoting Fundamental British Values

In accordance with The Department for Education, we aim to actively promote British Values in our school to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain.

We are very aware that our small rural school community is part of a much wider, multicultural nation and are keen to ensure our curriculum reflects the important and universal British values of inclusion and diversity.

Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance. To understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.

    The Key Values are:

                 •  Democracy
                 •  Rule of law
                 •  Individual liberty
                 •  Mutual respect
                 •  Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

At Lovington Primary School we hold firm to the belief that we should live our lives with a strong moral compass and treat everyone with kindness, respect and dignity. Our British Values go hand in hand with our Christian Values and form the basis of our teaching on equality, diversity and inclusion.
