Personal development is a big part of our school ethos. It is reflected in our school motto to 'Be the best you can be'. We want every child to leave Lovington Primary School as kind, confident and knowledgeable individuals who are resilient, determined and ready for the next stage of their learning. We strive to ensure that Lovington Primary children have all the skills that are necessary to contribute positively to society.

At Lovington, our aim is to teach children how to navigate through life safely, happily and healthily. We teach children about the world around them, relationships, emotions and health, as well as providing them with transferable skills, to help them with their lives.

At Lovington Church of England Primary School, we offer a wide range of after-school clubs. The children enjoy:
We also provide an interesting range of 'themed' after-school workshops. These have included a cupcake decorating workshop, celebrating the Chinese New Year event, a Spies Workshop as well as Christmas crafts.

Our children were recently joined by James Holland - author, historian, and broadcaster - to discuss his career path and experiences. James joined us while filming at the Imperial War Museum Duxford and showed us some of the fantastic planes from World War II. He also explained the important process of research before writing or broadcasting. The children have also learnt about food and drink manufacturing, including the important role of flavourists. During an interactive workshop, the children had the opportunity to test their senses across a wide range of flavours, as well as learning all about the science behind the production. To further enhance our focus on reading and writing, we were also visited by an international copy editor and writer, who shared her passion for language and explained how these attributes can lead to becoming a published author.

To mark Comic Relief this year, school council decided that our Year 5 and 6 pupils would create some fun games for children to play at breaktimes and lunchtimes. Russet class came up with a great range of creative activities which the younger children loved playing. They were proud of the amount of money they made for this important charity. In addition to this, all Lovington children had a mufti day in exchange for a donation to Comic Relief.

Bramcote Dentists visit Pippin Class

PCSOs visit Pippin Class
In March, Russet class visited Barton Hall in Torquay for their residential. The children enjoyed a wide range of activities, including the giant swing, abseiling, canoeing, and archery, embracing each challenge with enthusiasm and determination. In the evenings, they sang and danced around a campfire and thoroughly enjoyed the silent disco, creating lasting memories with their friends. It was wonderful to see how supportive they were of one another, how well they collaborated, and how consistently they demonstrated resilience, representing our school in such a positive and commendable way.
