Question Time with Sarah Dyke MP

On Friday 14th November, our oldest children met their local MP, Sarah Dyke, for an inspiring visit.  She came to talk to the children about her role as a Member of Parliament, gave insightful answers to their thoughtful questions and shared ideas for making a real change in the local community.

Sarah explained what she does as an MP – from attending Parliament debates, to helping local people with concerns.  The children were fascinated to hear how she represents our area and influences decisions that affect the local community and the country as a whole.

A highlight of the visit was the project that Sarah started with the children.  They discussed farming, with a particular focus on milk production and fairness in the supply chain.  The children are going to begin exploring fair pricing for British farmers and the nutritional benefits of milk.  Sarah will return around Easter to discuss their findings.

We were incredibly proud of our children, whom Sarah described as engaged, inquisitive and enthusiastic, and the important conversations they had with their local MP.
