Carymoor Waste Workshops

On Thursday, we were delighted to welcome Gary from Carymoor Environmental Trust for a morning of fun and thought-provoking environmental learning.

Gary began the day by leading a whole-school worship, encouraging the children to think about the waste we produce and how we can all help to look after our planet.

Russet Class then embarked on a Waste Odyssey - a time-travelling workshop exploring the impact that different materials can have on our planet. The children investigated everything from technology and different types of plastics to organic waste, chemicals, paper and glass. They were challenged to think about the problems these materials might create in the future and what we can do differently today.

Pippin Class became Eco-Pirates for their 3Rs workshop, building on the whole-school worship and exploring Reduce, Reuse and Recycle through fun activities, songs and games.

It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to think carefully about the choices we make and the impact our waste can have on the world around us. We are very grateful to Gary and Carymoor Environmental Trust for such an engaging and inspiring visit!
