We work hard to ensure our children have the skills to be safe both in and out of school. Safety education is embedded throughout our curriculum and children of all ages are taught about how to keep themselves and their bodies safe.
We link into activities for SCARF to enhance our PHSE/RSE curriculums.
We promote a culture of safe internet use as part of our everyday practice. In addition, all children receive a formal education on internet safety every term as part of their computing curriculum; all children understand who to talk to if they see anything that makes them feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
We work hard to ensure that all our children are safe and happy. Children understand who they can tell if any situation makes them feel unsafe or uncomfortable. Our DSLs ensure that staff understand how to report incidents and the procedures they must follow. At Lovington, our DSLs are:
Mrs Emma Marshall (Lead DLS, Head)
Mrs Meg Small (Deputy DSL)
Mrs Elspeth Dallard (Deputy DSL)
In addition, we hold NSPCC workshops, First Aid Workshops, Water Safety Assemblies and Road Safety Workshops to educate the children on staying safe.
Parental online safety workshops are also held at school, ensuring that we work together as a team to keep our children safe.
